MRS. EMMA LOU STUCKEY DOUGLASS, age 97, of Jacksonville, FL, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, July 6, at Rhine Baptist Church, with Mr. Bobby Ryals officiating, with interment in Bay Springs Cemetery in Rhine, GA.
Emma Lou was born in Rhine, GA and was a high school graduate. She was a supervisor over utilities for over thirty years for the City of Jacksonville Beach, FL and later worked for a local CPA firm for several years. She was a dedicated and loving wife of 46 years and was affectionately known as “Emmy” to her family. She was a member of Palm Valley Baptist Church in Palm Valley, FL and served the Lord through the church bus ministry that she started with her husband. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home for many years and were blessed to visit 48 of the 50 states in the U.S. They enjoyed making many wonderful memories during their travels. Emma Lou was the daughter of the late Dora Belle Hardy Stuckey and John D. Stuckey and was preceded in death by her Husband, Willie Buford Douglass, Sr., Step-Son, Willie Douglass, Jr., and Siblings, Annie Belle Stuckey Douglas, Eugene “Gene” Stuckey, Oscar Stuckey, Hardy Stuckey, and Jack Stuckey.
She is survived by her Step-Daughter-in-law – Sharylon Douglass of Evansville, IN; Grandchildren – Cheryl-Lynn Douglass Hoard (Brandon) and Kenneth Douglass, both of Evansville, IN; Brother – Talmadge Stuckey (Reva) of Macon, GA; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Jill Stuckey of Plains, GA, Bonnie Stuckey of Texas, Charlie Douglass of Maryville, TN, Preston Douglass (Emily), and Wallace Douglass, both of Somerville, TN; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends in Rhine Baptist Church from 10:00AM-11:00AM Saturday, July 6. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Rhine Baptist Church, 92 East Street, Rhine, GA 31077.
