MR. EDWARD BACON, age 75, of Chauncey, GA, died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Dodge County Hospital.

 Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, August 27, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ricky Gilmore and Bishop J.B. Carr officiating, with interment in Pine Level Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Edward was born in Dodge County, GA, of the Baptist Faith, and a 1966 graduate of Dodge County High School. After high school he married and began his family. He was blessed with three beautiful daughters who he was devoted to. He worked as an aircraft painter at Robins AFB for several years, was a First Responder for the Chauncey Fire Department, and also worked as an EMT part-time for Dodge County. He was owner and operator of B & T Grocery in Chauncey for many years and later worked as an over the road truck driver for Trucks, Inc. and later for Tommy Fussell Trucking. Edward was a dedicated father, and a loving grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and being outdoors. He was the son of the late Vida Dykes Bacon and Walter B. Bacon and was preceded in death by a Granddaughter, Laura Leigh Taylor, and 3 Sisters, Bonnie Sue Bacon Conner, Johnnie Faye Bacon Spires, and Margaret Jenelle Bacon Harrell.

 He is survived by his 3 Daughters – Gerry B. Taylor (Lee) of Chauncey, Cindy Nelson (Clint), and Teresa Sanders (Chris), both of Eastman; 5 Grandchildren – Walt Taylor, Allison Bryan, Slade Bryan, Jordan Barrentine (Thomas), and Jaylee Sanders; Great-Grandson – Lane Barrentine; 2 Brothers – Billy Joe Bacon (Lynn) of Dexter and Frank Bacon (Charlotte) of Dudley; Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Cindy and Clint Nelson, 962 Chester Hwy., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, August 27.
