MRS. EDITH ROLAND SHEFFIELD, aged 80, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday, May 4, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chad Hendley and Rev. Ron Jones officiating, with interment in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Edith was born in Eastman, GA on January 29, 1946, to the late Mollie Sheffield Roland and Colonel J. Roland. She was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a graduate of Beauticians School in Dublin, and owned and operated her own beauty salon for over 30 years.

 She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who was affectionately called “Granny” by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, shopping, going to thrift stores and estate sales. She treasured her family dearly, loved cooking for them, and supported them at any and all events. Edith was a devout Christian lady who loved to share the Gospel and teachings of her Lord and Savior.

 Edith was preceded in death by her Parents, Mollie Sheffield Roland and Colonel J. Roland, Husband, Curtis Daniel Sheffield, Son, Donnie Curtis Sheffield, Sr., Grandson, Rory Wood, Jr., and Brother, James Jackson Roland.

 She is survived by her Daughters – Dianne S. Purvis (Scott), Denise S. Lowery (Chris), both of Eastman, and Phyllis Rozier of Cochran; Daughter-in-law – Teresa Ann Sheffield of Eastman; Grandchildren – Allison Hulett (Matt), Andrew Lowery (Haley), Dalton Lowery (Madolyn), Clint Purvis, Austin Purvis, Mollie Brianna Sheffield, Dixie Dawn “D.D.” Thigpen (Chris), D.J. Sheffield (Bekka), Pam Teagle (J.P.), and Sonya Ferrel (Brandon); Great-Grandchildren – Bryla Sheffield, Kinsley Sheffield, Reid Sheffield, Gracie Thigpen, Savannah Thigpen, Rory Wood, III, Emily Ferrel, Brody Ferrel, John Michael Teagle, Weston Teagle, Ethan Teagle, and Lane Teagle; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law – Linda Kirkis Sheffield of Eastman and Carl Sheffield of Watkinsville; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Denise and Chris Lowery, 446 Pete Sapp Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 3:00PM-5:00PM Sunday, May 3.

 In addition to flowers, the family has requested contributions to Remarkable Hospice or Gideons International Bible Fund, in honor of Edith. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff with Remarkable Hospice and the care they provided for Edith during her final days.
