A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, December 28, at Freedom Baptist Church in Milan, GA, with Rev. Bill Jones, Mr. Tom Jackson, and Mr. Dwayne Williams officiating.
Dwight was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, where he was raised on the family farm. He was a graduate of Dodge County High School, a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church, and attended Freedom Baptist Church in Milan, GA. He worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation for many years before retiring in the 1990s. Dwight was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, classic cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the son of the late Sarah Corene Williams and Alton Morris Williams and was preceded in death by his Siblings, Morris Dwayne Williams, Steve Williams, Patricia Staples, Vickie Johnson, Gloria Williams, and Earl Williams.
He is survived by his Wife of 51 years – Melinda Marchant Williams of Milan, GA; Daughters – Mandy Dowdy of Milan, GA and Dell Jackson (Tom) of Rhine, GA; Son – Dwayne Williams (Brandi) of China Hill, GA; Grandchildren – Zory Williams, Kaiser Jackson, Dalton Dowdy, Emma Jackson, Lex Williams, Hayden Dowdy, Cross Jackson, and Lake Williams; Sisters – Peggy Selph (Warren) of Milan, GA and Cynthia Smith (Chris) of Dexter, GA; Sisters-in-law – Jane Dollie Williams of Hawkinsville, GA and Ruthie Davis (Terry) of Milan, GA; Brothers-in-law – Thad Staples and Henry Marchant, both of Milan, GA; Aunt – Linda Raley of Cochran, GA; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the Williams’ residence, 1844 Milan-Chauncey Rd., Milan, GA, and will receive friends in Freedom Baptist Church from 1:00PM-2:00PM Thursday, December 28, 2023.
