DUSTIN HEATH PRUETT, SR., age 45, of Eastman, Georgia, left his earthly body surrounded by family on January 18, 2025, at Memorial Health University Hospital in Savannah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23, at 3:00PM, in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Brian Bennett officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery.

Dustin was born in Dublin, Georgia, on September 28, 1979. Dustin loved the Lord and was a member of The River Church of Eastman, where he served as the church treasurer. Dustin was a 1998 graduate of Dodge County High School. He loved his time spent playing baseball for the Indians, but his proudest accomplishment from school was falling in love with his sweetheart, Misty. He studied business at Middle Georgia College before going to work for the family heating and air business, Pruett Air Conditioning, where he became the Vice President. Dustin loved family camping trips and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed being in the bird field with his dad, children, family, and friends. He loved being on the golf course and was proud to have coached the Warner Academy Eagles in Port Orange, FL. He was a passionate baseball coach with the Dodge County Recreation Department and their Clutch travel ball team. Some of Dustin’s favorite memories with his wife and children have been created on their many travels. He learned to scuba dive to spend more time with their children on their adventures. Dustin was a passionate advocate for the many foster children he and Misty have cared for over the years. Dustin enjoyed cooking for his wife and children. Above all else, he cherished his family.

He was predeceased by his son, Dustin Heath Pruett, Jr.; mother, Debbie Bowman Pruett; and grandparents, James “Jimmy” Pruett, Sr., Maize Cooper Pruett and Celestine Dixon Bowman.

Dustin is survived by the love of his life and wife of twenty-five years, Misty Conley Pruett of Eastman; five children: Gracie Kay Pruett, Brycen Ira Pruett, Addison Joy Pruett, Athena Nicole Pruett, and Kayden James Pruett, all of Eastman; father and step-mother – Jimmy & Casey Pruett of Eastman, sister - Jayci Pruett Cox of Eastman; maternal grandfather – Buck Bowman of Empire; mother & father-in-law - Gerald & Lenora Conley of Eastman; sister-in-law: Glennie Conley Whitley (Scott) of Eastman; brothers-in-law: G. Blake Conley (Rebecca) of Eastman and David Cox (Lisa) of Port Orange, FL; nieces –Trinity and Kennedy Cox of Port Orange, FL, Glenna Rae Whitley, Conley Whitley, Tori Beth Whitley, and Eleanor Conley, all of Eastman; nephews – Seth Cox of Port Orange, Florida, and Cooper and Chip Conley of Eastman; aunts - Roni Ward (Echard) of Dexter, Robin Davis (Andy) of Bartow, FL, Janice Cadwell (John), Patrice Rozar (Jimmy), Audrey Davis (Tony), and Vicki Noles (Mike), all of Eastman; uncle – Jessie Pruett (Paige) of Eastman and Steve Bowman of Kathleen; great aunt – Connie Cooper of Chauncey, GA and great uncle – Carl Cooper of Macon, GA; a host of cousins, extended family, friends, and beloved foster children.

The family may be contacted at the Pruett residence, 822 Cochran Hwy., Eastman, Georgia, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-3:00PM Thursday, January 23 before the service. In addition to flowers, donations in memory can be made to TLC CASA (Foster Care Advocacy) at PO Box 16322, Dublin, GA 31040. In honor of Dustin and his love of wearing blue jeans, Jeans are welcome to be worn for his service.
