Obituary for Donnie Sheffield Sr.

MR. DONNIE CURTIS SHEFFIELD, SR., age 55, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Dodge County Hospital.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, September 17, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Daniel Folds, Rev. Brian Jones, and Rev. Royce McClelland officiating, with interment in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Donnie was a lifelong resident of Eastman, a member of Zebulon Baptist Church, a 1984 graduate of Dodge County High School, attended Georgia Southern University, and was a graduate of the Heart of Georgia Technical College. He was a former employee of Reynolds, Inc. for several years and enjoyed fishing, cooking, decorating cakes, painting, crafts, Georgia Football, Dodge County Sports, and most of all spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

 Survivors: Wife – Teresa Ann Sheffield of Eastman; 2 Daughters – Mollie Brianna Sheffield of Eastman and Dixie Dawn “D. D.” Thigpen (Chris) of Cochran; 2 Sons – D. J. Sheffield (Kaitlin) of Eastman and Rory Wood, Jr. (Tiffany) of Cochran; 7 Grandchildren – Bryla Sheffield, Kinsley Sheffield, Reid Sheffield, Gracie Thigpen, Savannah Thigpen, Rory Wood, III, and Presley Banderas; Mother and Father – Edith Roland Sheffield and Curtis Daniel Sheffield; 2 Sisters – Dianne Purvis (Scott) and Denise Lowery (Chris) both of Eastman; Foster Sister – Phyllis Rozier; Nieces and Nephews – Allison Hulett (Matt), Andrew Lowery, Dalton Lowery, Clint Purvis, Austin Purvis, Pam Teagle, and Sonya Ferrel; Aunt and Uncle – Linda Sheffield and Carl Sheffield (Florine); Great-Aunts and Great-Uncles – Rossi Giddens (Carroll Ray), Ruth Dennis, Martha Rogers, Willene Cobb (Therrell), Regina Sheffield, Javene Sheffield, and Denise Sheffield; Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Denise and Chris Lowery, 446 Pete Sapp Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM-2:00PM Tuesday, September 17.
