MR. DONNIE RAY ROLAND, age 61, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, December 1, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastman, with Rev. Daniel Cook officiating.
Mr. Roland was born in Eastman and was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1991 graduate of Heart of Georgia Technical Institute with a degree in Aircraft Structural Technology. Donnie was a retired civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base working for 23 years and was a former textile worker at Reeves Brothers Cotton Mill where he worked for over 15 years. He was a former member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and an avid Civil War enthusiast. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, C. J. Roland and Marcia Rowland Roland, and a brother-in-law, Andy McCormick.
He is survived by his Wife – Rosemary McCormick Roland of Eastman; 1 Son – James Roland of Eastman; 2 Sisters – Elaine Roland Reynolds (Johnny) of Chauncey and Sandra Roland Dykes of Eastman; 1 Brother – David Roland (Debbie) of Eastman; Parents-in-law – Mary Jim McCormick and Wayne McCormick, both of Eastman; Sister-in-law – Vickie Jones McCormick of Eastman; Nieces and Nephews – Michael McCormick, Chris McCormick (Jennifer), Nick Dykes, Chris Reynolds, Ashley Roland, and Amy Reynolds; Great Nephew – Jackson McCormick; Great Niece – Emma Reynolds.
Mr. Roland will lie-in-state at Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home in Eastman from 11:00AM until 4:00PM, Monday, November 30 . The family may be contacted at the Roland residence, 1401 Roddy Highway, Eastman, GA 31023.
