MRS. DONNA LYNN DIX WALKER, age 66, of Rhine, GA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 25, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Bobby Ryals officiating, with interment in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Rhine.

 Donna was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a loyal member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and a graduate of Dodge County High School. After high school, she obtained her Associate’s degree at Middle Georgia College before transferring to Georgia Southwestern University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and later her Master’s of Elementary Education in 1993. Upon graduating from college, she taught for a brief time at Chauncey Elementary School before beginning her long and illustrious career educating the hearts and minds of 5th graders at South Dodge Elementary School. She retired in 2014 to enjoy all that life had to offer. She enjoyed going to the beach, especially staying at the King and Prince at St. Simon’s Island. She loved cooking, watching “Gone With The Wind”, which she could watch on repeat, all things involving Christmas, especially Christmas decorations, and her hometown of Rhine. Donna was the daughter of the late Dan Dix and Mariah Williamson Dix and was preceded in death by her Husband, Ernest Jerrell Walker and a beloved Double First Cousin, Linda Dix Fournier.

 She is survived by her 2 Double First Cousins – Tommy Dix (Kristi) of Rhine and Wayne Dix (Kitty) of Hawkinsville; 2 Sisters-in-law – Jennifer Yawn (Chris) of Forsyth and Robin Walker of Covington; 2 Brothers-in-law – Kenny Walker (Patsy) of McRae and Gary Walker (Sandy) of Covington; Several Extended Family Members and Numerous Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Tommy and Kristi Dix, 1461 Oak Grove Church Rd., Rhine, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Thursday, August 25.
