MR. DENNIS JOHNNY DOUGLAS, age 71, of Eastman, GA, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Monday, August 24, at Antioch #2 Baptist Church, 180 Antioch South Rd., Milan, GA, with Rev. Jack Lee and Rev. Ricky Gilmore officiating, with interment in Antioch #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Dennis was born in Eastman, GA on June 1, 1955, to the late Nuvel Barlow Douglas and Tillman Douglas. He was a 1973 graduate of Dodge County High School and worked at Edward’s Furniture Store during his high school years. He later worked for a short time at Reeves Brothers Cotton Mill. In the mid-1970s, he began a career with Ocmulgee EMC as a lineman. He eventually became a line foreman before retiring in 2020 as a staking engineer, after 47 years of service. Dennis was one of the longest serving and most committed employees of Ocmulgee EMC. He loved his work, his coworkers, and the many people he encountered over the years through his work and as a commercial and licensed electrician.

 Dennis was a loving husband of 42 years, and a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church, loved horses, and competed as a barrel racer in his younger years. He enjoyed softball and played in many tournaments over the years and played for many years with a church softball league, where he was given the nickname “Sugar Bear”. He enjoyed joking around with his family and friends. Dennis was loved and will be forever missed.

 He is survived by his Wife – Fran Jones Douglas of Eastman; Daughters – Jennifer Douglas and Crystal D. Bullock (Todd), both of Eastman; Grandchildren – Alton Talbot, Maycee Brown, Rylie Bullock, and D.J. Bullock; Siblings – Deborah D. Laxton (Larry), Danny Douglas (Brenda), Cindy D. Screws (Donny), and Wayne Williams (Jeanine), all of Eastman; Brother-in-law – Tommy Jones of Milan; Sister-in-law – Barbara Cravey (Eddie) of Rhine; Nieces and Nephews – Chris Screws (Rebecca), Taylor Screws (Brittany), Dennie Douglas, Brandon Douglas (Crystal), Jamey Wilkinson, Katie Wilkinson Shell (Alva), Tabitha Brantley (Aaron), Dee Snyder (Graham), Kristin Williams, Travis Inskeep (Rosie), Dana Cravey (Alecia), Corey Cravey (Jody), Angie Helton (Billy), Lindy Amerson (Chris), and Michelle Davis; Uncle – Bobby Fulcher of Augusta; Numerous great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.

 The family may be contacted at the Douglas residence, 6474 Jim Pruitt Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Antioch #2 Baptist Church from 1:00PM-2:00PM Monday, August 24. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Antioch #2 Baptist Church building fund, 180 Antioch South Rd., Milan, GA 31060.
