MRS. DEBORAH LYNN “DEBBIE” DUKES CHAPMAN, age 63, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Dodge County Hospital.
MRS. DEBORAH LYNN “DEBBIE” DUKES CHAPMAN, age 63, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, August 23, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele and Rev. Todd Crosby officiating, with interment in Milan City Cemetery.
Debbie was born in Jacksonville, FL in 1961 to Nan Maloy Dukes and the late Thomas Jack Dukes. She was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a 1979 graduate of Wills High School in Smyrna, GA and later studied at several colleges over the years. She married in 1994 and resided in Kennesaw, GA before moving to Chelsea, AL and later to Eastman, GA in 2011 to be closer to her mother. She worked for Ed Voyles Chrysler in Marietta, GA for several years as a bookkeeper. Debbie was a loving mother and daughter who enjoyed drawing, painting, going to the beach, and swimming. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and animal lover, especially dogs, and loved her canine companions Buster and Dexter. She also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and spent countless hours tending to her flowers and bird watching. Debbie was passionate about her family and enjoyed spending time with and visiting her family and friends. She was loved by everyone she met. Debbie was a devout Christian lady that spoke the gospel daily. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Jack Dukes.
She is survived by her Son – Zack Chapman of Avon, CO; Mother – Nan Maloy Dukes of Eastman, GA; Former Husband – Stan Chapman of Vestavia, AL; Aunt and Uncles – Edwina Stapleton (Mather) of Milan, GA and Dan Maloy of Eastman, GA; Numerous Cousins including – Pam Gilbert, Stacey Davis, Janet Stapleton, Bill Stapleton, Curt Cravey, Joseph Dooley, and Austin Churchwell.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Nan Dukes, 5039 Greenwood Street, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Friday, August 23. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter, 77 Industrial Blvd, Eastman, GA 31023.
