A visitation will be held for family and friends at 5:00PM, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the family residence, 645 Milan-Chauncey Highway, Chauncey, GA, 31011.
Mr. Moore was born in McRae, GA, on December 8, 1961, and was of the Christian faith. He was raised in the Scotland community of Telfair County as a child and attended Telfair and Dodge County Schools. He worked with his father and became a carpenter until age 17 when he enlisted in the US Navy. David proudly served his country aboard the USS Nimitz and was stationed at Norfolk Naval Station in Virginia for 4 years. He returned home to Dodge County, GA and worked a career at Robins AFB for over 25 years in the paint shop. He became co-owner and operator of M&M Gun and Pawn in 2019 where he worked until 2023 before battling cancer in his later years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid powerlifter and competed regularly for many years in the Master’s Division. He held several bench press records in the southeastern states. David was the son of the late Ellen Irvin Moore and David Locke Moore Sr.
He is survived by his Daughter – Carissa Moore of Chauncey; 2 Sons – Trent Moore (Brooke) of Eastman and Austin Moore (Cassie) of Bonaire; 8 Grandchildren – Mattie Moore, Dennie Moore, Locke Moore, Addison Strickland, Oliver Strickland, Abigail Strickland, Amelia Moore, and Autumn Moore; 2 Brothers – Raymond Moore of Sylvania, GA and Jay Moore (Kim) of Maysville, GA; 2 Step-Children – Jason Beck (Amber) of Eastman and Jennifer Anderson (Marty) of Cochran, GA; Former Wife – Candace Moore of Centerville, GA; 3 Aunts – Joyce Bush and Rebecca Moore both of Cedar Grove, GA and Rozie Mullis of Cochran; Several Nieces and Nephews.
