DAKOTA RAY SPIRES, age 22, of McRae, GA, formerly of Milan, GA, died Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Dakota was a member of Milan Baptist Church and a 2020 graduate of Telfair County High School. He was a dedicated employee with Core Civic and the Georgia Department of Corrections in McRae, GA, where he worked as a correctional officer. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin, who was a hard worker, had a good-natured personality, and will be dearly missed by his family. Dakota was an avid gamer who loved video games and computers, and also enjoyed going on trips to the beach with his family. He was preceded in death by Grandparents, Ruby Spires, Hilda Overstreet, and Robert Overstreet, and Nephew, “Baby” Max Spires.
He is survived by his Mother and Father – Janet Overstreet Spires and Jerry Max Spires of Milan; Brothers – Joshua Spires (Chelsey) and Shannon Spires (Tiffany); Nieces and Nephews – Alecia Spires, Cullen Spires, Emilee Spires, Marie Spires, Briana Spires, Colt Spires, and Dalton Spires; Aunts and Uncles – Brenda Walker, Glenda McKinney (Randy), Teresa Spires, Pam Barnard (Phillip), Daniel Spires (Melissa), Joey Spires (Nikki), Dewayne Overstreet (Janet), and Brenda Rencarge (Raymond); Numerous Cousins and Friends.
