MR. CLIFTON N. “CLICK” JONES, age 94, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, September 8, 2025, at his residence. 

 The family will receive friends and family from 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, September 11, at Southerland Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, September 12, in Hillside Baptist Church, with Rev. Daniel Cook, Rev. Chad Hendley and Rev. Michael Soud officiating, with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

 Clifton was born in Chauncey, GA on August 6, 1931, to the late Pearl Pitts Jones and Eulas Jones. He was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a graduate of Hendrix High School, and married his wife, Betty Jean, on December 24, 1951. Clifton enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, where he served during the Korean Conflict as Military Police, before joining the Air Force Reserve and proudly serving his country for over 40 years, and retired in the early 1990s as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was blessed with a son, Derek, on June 10, 1959. He worked as a Civil Service Employee at Robins Air Force Base for over 30 years and retired at the ripe old age of 55. He was a dedicated husband for 64 years to his wife Betty Jean and was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Clifton was a member and deacon at Cottondale Baptist Church for over 40 years, before merging into Hillside Baptist Church, where he was the oldest member. He served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed many wonderful years at his lake house on Lake Sinclair. In 1975, Clifton received a medal for humanitarian deeds for the rescue of a young girl he pulled from a burning building in Warner Robins. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs football team. He enjoyed working in his yard and his home in Eastman and at his lake house in Sinclair. He loved his family dearly and was affectionately called “Papa” by his grandchildren. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64 years, Betty Jean “B.J.” Jones, and 5 siblings, Brenis Jones, Bill Jones, Everine Mullis, Cary Jones, and Gwynelle Lowery.

 He is survived by his Son – Derek Jones (Lisa) of Forsyth, GA; Grandchildren – Jade Holton of Macon, GA and Cameron Jones of Atlanta, GA; 2 Great-Grandchildren – Amelia Holton and John Clifton Holton; Sister – Vivian Soud-Hazouri of Eastman, GA; Sister-In-Law – Lee Jones; Several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and numerous friends; Special Friend – Joy Lee of Eastman, GA.
