A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00PM – 3:30PM Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Southerland Funeral Chapel in Eastman.

Mrs. Claudia was born outside of Seattle in Ballard, WA in 1933. After graduating from Ballard High School in 1951, Claudia worked at the Seattle First Bank for many years. She married Harry B. Bowen, from Rhine, GA, and they had four children. As an Air Force family, they moved many times and were stationed in Africa, New Jersey, Montana, and Washington State, before Harry’s passing in 1969. Claudia later married Howard Poole who was an owner of an Arco Service Station where she helped with the bookkeeping, and he had two children who Claudia loved as her own. After selling their homes, they moved to Ocean Shores, WA and built their home overlooking the Pacific Ocean and later by Duck Lake. She and Howard enjoyed many years together before his passing in 1988. Claudia loved to cook and try new recipes, crocheting beautiful afghans for her children, digging for clams and fishing off the dock, painting and wall papering, and playing golf with the ladies’ golf team in Ocean Shores. Her sense of humor kept things lively, and she enjoyed kidding around with her grandkids on their many visits. She was adopted into her Son-in-laws native Alaskan clan. Claudia’s Tlingit name was Shaa-Watt-Klien. She was the daughter of the late Katherine Kotrba Henderson and Norman Lorenzo Henderson and was preceded in death by a Sister, Catherine Thieme.
