Obituary for Clark Strickland

MR. ROBERT CLARK STRICKLAND, age 57, of Rhine, GA, died Sunday, November 19, 2023.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 22, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Gary Ryals officiating, and he will be interred at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Clark was born in McRae, GA, a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, and was raised in Rhine, GA. He attended Rhine Elementary and Dodge County High School. He worked in bridge construction for many years and later started his own home construction business. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, especially his canine companion “Lucky”. He was loved by his many friends and family, in particular his nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Jean Bohannon Strickland and Bob Strickland and was preceded in death by his Sister, Audrey S. Helms and Brother-in-law, Jack Lupin.

 He is survived by his Sister – Bobbie S. Lupin of Eastman, GA; Brother – Tony Strickland (Kerri) of Abbeville, GA; Brother-in-law – David Helms of Milan, GA; Nieces and Nephews – Corey Newman, April Hayes, Brian Hayes (Tammy), Darla Helms Ashley (Bryan), Rebecca Strickland Wiggins (Scott), Zeke Lupin (Rachel), Hannah Lupin Arnold (David), and Daniel Strickland (Andrea); Aunts and Uncles – Danny Strickland (Donna) of Rhine, GA, Charlie Strickland (Ann) of Gainesville, GA, Clara Sawyer of Eastman, GA, and Hildred King (Larry) of Byron, GA; Numerous Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Cousins, and Friends including, Buster Dowdy, Adam Dowdy, Craig “Foots” Thompson, and Jim Hilliard.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Brian and Tammy Hayes, 541 Jaybird Springs Rd., Chauncey, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:30PM-2:00PM Wednesday, November 22. Clark’s family is so thankful for the loving care he was able to receive from his caregiver, Tammy Hayes, for the last several months.
