MR. CLARK BENNY ABBOTT, age 71, of Alamo, GA, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his residence.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Friday, January 6, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Scott Selph officiating, with interment in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Clark was born and raised in Cochran, a graduate of Bleckley County High School, and a retired Baptist minister for numerous churches in the Middle Georgia area. A few of the churches he pastored over his 35 years of service were Mount Zion Baptist Church in Rentz, Faith Baptist Church in McRae, and New Harmony Baptist Church in Thomaston. He loved working on and collecting classic muscle cars, loved corvettes, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. But most of all, he loved his church and his family. Clark was the son of the late Lela Poss Hobbs and Troy Abbott and was preceded in death his Wife, Penny Abbott and their unborn child, a Brother, Travis Abbott, and a Sister, Gloria Justice.

 He is survived by his Daughter – Brittany Noles (Jimmy) of Tampa, FL; 2 Sons – Brent Abbott (C.J.) of Helena and Dustin Abbott of Jefferson; Granddaughter – Clarissa Abbott; Sister – Delores Churchwell of Cochran; 3 Brothers – Roy Abbott of Cochran, Carroll Abbott of Thomaston, and Truett Abbott of Augusta; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Brent and C.J. Abbott, 3057 Durden Lane, Helena, GA 31037, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel 10:30AM-11:00AM Friday, January 6.
