DAVID CHRISTAN SHYLOW “CHRIS” SNELGROVE, age 30, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, October 12, 2024, in Dodge County.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, October 19, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. LaDon Connell officiating, with interment in Sugar Creek Congregational Methodist Church in Chauncey, GA.
Chris was born in Japan on August 16, 1994. He attended Dodge County High School and worked in the family construction business, Georgia Boyz, Inc., for over fifteen years. He was a loving son, father, and friend who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Chris made many friends during his lifetime and never met a stranger. He loved grilling out, hanging out with his family and friends, studying about American Indian Culture, collecting Indian artifacts, and hunting for arrowheads, which was his passion. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his son, David, who he affectionately called “Doo Wap”.
He is survived by his Parents – Wendy and Kevin Hester of Dexter, GA, and David F. and Sheene Snelgrove; Son – David Snelgrove of Macon, GA; Former Wife – Erica Snelgrove of Macon, GA; Companion and Family – Kaylee Sisk of Eastman, GA, and Bentley Manchester and Colt Manchester; Brothers and Sisters – Courtney Snelgrove, Joshua Snelgrove, Cody Snelgrove, Tyler Snelgrove, Kiley Snelgrove, Amanda Hollingsworth, Toby Hollingsworth, Sierra Jackson, Miki and Alan Sumner, Erika and Josh Renew, Angel and Will Arnette, and Joshua Hester; Grandmother – Linda Hester of Dublin, GA; his Nannie – Francis Ross of Eastman, GA; Maternal Great-Grandmother – Lugene Wilkerson of Cordele, GA; Aunts and Uncles – Donald Wayne Jackson, Jr. of Dublin, GA, Terri Reynolds, George Muncher (Angie), Tom Muncher, all of Eastman, GA, Kerri Woodard (Vic) of Cadwell, GA, Keith Hester (Kelly) of Franklin, NC, and Kent Hester (Janet) of Charlotte, NC; Several Great-Aunts and Uncles; Numerous cousins and friends; Loving friend – Shelby Peavey.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Wendy and Kevin Hester, 793 Spring Haven Rd., Dexter, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Friday, October 18.
