JOHN CHIRSTOPHER “CHRIS” FOUNTAIN, age 53, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, February 3, 2024, in Columbus, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, February 8, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Dennis McCranie officiating.

 Chris was born in McRae, GA and was of the Christian Faith. He was raised in Eastman, GA and was a 1989 graduate of Dodge County High School. He worked several jobs over the years including eight years with Reynolds Metals in the 1990s and was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He enjoyed golfing, tinkering with anything and everything, fishing, and was supremely talented with anything he put his mind to. Chris had a kind heart and enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was affectionately known as “Smiley” to his friends. Chris was preceded in death by his Father, John Calvin “Sonny” Fountain, Jr., Maternal Grandparents, Sabra Coleman Dykes and Max O’Neal Dykes, Paternal Grandparents, Lois Sheffield Fountain and John Calvin Fountain, Sr., and Several Aunts and Uncles.

 He is survived by his Children – Jordan Fountain (Alexis Ussery) and Katelyn Fountain Varnadoe (Daniel) both of Eastman, GA; Grandchildren – Tristian Fountain, Morgan Fountain, and Adilynn Fountain; Mother – Carol Dykes Fountain of Eastman, GA; Sisters – Tonia Swearingen (Jody) of Arabi, GA and Amanada Swearingen of Eastman, GA; Nephews – Jason Swearingen, Hunter Swearingen, and Eric Swearingen; Aunt and Uncles –Tina Hudson (Robert) of Fayetteville, GA and Max Dykes of Eastman, GA; Numerous Cousins and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Max Dykes, 6075 1st Avenue, Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:30AM-11:00AM Thursday, February 8.
