MRS. CHERI ANNE MARTEL JONES, age 51, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at her residence.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Southerland Funeral Chapel in Eastman with Mr. Hank Sapp officiating.

 Cheri was born in Warner Robins, GA, attended Dodge County High School, attended McRae Presbyterian Church in McRae, GA, and was a homemaker. She worked as a receptionist for Primary Eye Care in Macon, GA for over ten years and later worked as a Servpro Technician for five years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved 80s rock music, flowers, and plants, was a huge animal lover, and a very proud grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as “Nannie Ree” to her grandchildren and “Ree Ree” to her nieces and nephews. Cheri was preceded in death by her Brother, Steven Ronald Martel.

 She is survived by her Husband – Troy Edward “Bud” Jones, III of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Summer Martel of Cochran, GA; Son – Scott Martel (Amy Wallace) of Cochran, GA; Step-Children – Jonathan Wright (Alicia), Bret Jones (Jessica), Harley Devan Jones, all of Eastman, GA and Jordan Jones (Kristen) of Bishop, GA; Grandchildren – Lola Martel, Cammie Wright, Ian Jones, Kylie Jones, Waik Wright, Lydia Ruth Jones, and Nora Jones; Mother – Beth Thompson Dickerson of Cochran, GA; Father – Dennis Ronald Martel (Carolyn) of Forsyth, GA; Brothers – David Martel (Randi) of Forsyth, GA and Brian Martel (Brittney) of Eastman, GA; Mother-in-law – Cheryl Jones of Eastman, GA; Sister-in-law – Carrie Jones Roland (Scott Carr); Several Nieces and Nephews; Aunts and Uncles – Nancy Thomas (Jimmy), Brenda Alligood (Royce), Glynn Thompson (Sue), Donnie Thompson (Mary), and Doyle Thompson (Andrea); Numerous Cousins and Friends.

In addition to flowers the family requests contributions to Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter, 77 Industrial Blvd, Eastman, GA 31023 or contact Bud Jones at 478-230-4299. The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:30PM-2:00PM before services on Saturday, April 20.
