MR. CHARLES EDWARD HOWELL, age 80, of Eastman, GA, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, February 15, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Emory Howell and Rev. Lewis Miller officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, and a retired lead carpenter for Graham and Studstill Construction Company for many years. He loved to work, watch NASCAR and dirt track races, watch sports on TV, and most of all, spend time with his family and friends. Charles was the son of the late Gladys Howell Thompson and Jack Howell and was preceded in death by his Wife of 33 years, Marilyn Steverson Howell, Wife of 20 years, Wilda Sue Pruett Howell, and Brothers, Billy Joe Howell, Sherman Howell, James Howell, Jimmy Howell, and Jack Howell, Jr.
He is survived by his Daughter – Sherry Windham (George) of Bonaire; Son – Leon Howell (Becky) of Eastman; Grandchildren – Heather McCranie (Paul), Lexi Hickman, Kyla Howell, Drew Howell, all of Eastman, and Megan Novak (Heather) of Warner Robins; Great-Grandchildren – Hannah McCranie, Jacob McCranie, Madison McCranie, and Gabe McCranie; Adopted Son – Stevie Knight (Lisa) of Eastman; Step-Sons – Douglas Holder (LaRita) of Eastman, Anthony Holder (Angie) of Hawkinsville, and Ashley Holder (Anissa) of Gresston; Sister – Lois Kennedy of Eastman; Sister-in-law – Dorothy Howell of Eastman and Brigitte Steverson of Monticello; Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the residence of Leon and Becky Howell, 181 Sugar Creek Lane, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM Wednesday, February 15.
