After graduating high school, she married the love of her life and went to work at Goody’s Manufacturing and Haynes, Inc. in the late 1980s into the early 1990s. She later worked as a nursing aid at Middle Georgia Nursing Home for six years before going to work with Visiting Nurse’s of Telfair County until 2000. She worked as a dispatcher for Dodge-Wilcox 911 for over 12 years and in 2012, she went to work of the Dodge County Sheriff’s office as a jailer. A milestone in her career was her involvement in opening and operating the new Dodge County Law Enforcement Center, where she continued to work until 2015. After leaving the Dodge County Sheriff’s office, she went to work for the Telfair County Sheriff’s office, under Sheriff Chris Steverson as the head jailer, and later achieved the rank of Lieutenant under Sheriff Sim Davidson, where she remained until her retirement in 2020. She enjoyed her time in law enforcement and was appreciative and honored to work with so many wonderful men and women over the years.
