MRS. BRIGITTE GLASS STOKES, age 47, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, December 16, 2024, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Rick Hamilton officiating.
Brigitte was born in Monroeville, AL on May 20, 1977. She was of the Methodist faith, a 1995 graduate of Dodge County High School, and earned her associate degree from Middle Georgia College, bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and master’s in education from Georgia Southwestern State University. She was an elementary school teacher for 16 years at North Dodge Elementary School, where she also taught the gifted program for many years. Brigitte enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, hunting and collecting arrowheads, riding four wheelers, and trips to the beach. She was preceded in death by her Stepson, Braydon Stokes.
She is survived by her Husband – Chad Stokes of Eastman, GA; Daughter – Maegan Yawn of Griffin, GA; Stepsons – Drew Stokes (Courtney) of Chula Vista, CA and Jake Stokes (Hannah) of Eastman, GA; Father and Mother – Albert D. Glass, Jr. and Diana Cofield Glass, both of Eastman, GA; Sister – Angie Glass Thompson (Todd) of Hartsville, SC; Brother – Albert Glass, III (Janice) of Dublin, GA; Parents-in-law – Donnie and Dale Stokes of Eastman, GA; Sister-in-law – Brandi Stokes Wilson (Nathaniel) of Eastman, GA; Aunts and Uncles – Ann Glass Hilliard (Greg), Joann Cravey, Carol Coleman (Terry), Ellis Cofield, Jimmy Cofield, and Pam Cofield; Nieces and Nephews – Katie Glass, Matthew Glass, Walker Glass, Garsee Thompson, Luke Thompson, Bailey Wilson, and Emilee Wilson; Numerous Cousins and Friends; Canine Companions – Rip and Rocksee.
The family may be contacted at the Stokes residence, 366 Scarborough Owens Rd., Eastman, or the residence of Diana Glass, 192 Harry Hargrove Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 12:30PM – 2:00PM Saturday, before services. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to Faithful Hearts Animal Shelter, 77 Industrial Blvd., Eastman, GA 31023.
