Obituary for Billy Ray Scarborough

MR. BILLY RAY “BUDDY” SCARBOROUGH, age 75, of Macon, GA, died Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Lynn Haven Health and Rehab in Gray, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, July 14, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Elder Wesley Watkins officiating with interment at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cadwell, GA.

 Billy Ray was born in Chester, GA in Dodge County on October 1, 1949, to the late Iris Jeanette Killingsworth Scarborough and Ollie Thomas Scarborough. He was raised in the Dodge County, of the Baptist Faith, and enjoyed spending time with his family. In his earlier years he enjoyed riding his bicycle and loved doing yard work. He was a beloved Brother and Uncle and was affectionately known as Buddy to his family and friends. Along with his parents, Billy Ray was preceded in death by his Siblings, Willard Scarborough, Linda Spratlin, Olin Scarborough, and Terry Scarborough.

 He is survived by his Sisters – Grace Mullis of Macon, Dora Hilliard of Gresston, and Joyce Scarborough of Cochran; Brothers – Ollie Thomas Scarborough (Phyliss) of Macon, Charles Scarborough of Macon, Lonnie Scarborough (Billie Faye) of Milan, and Donnie Scarborough of Chester; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Monday, July 14. In addition to flowers the family requests contributions to Caney Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 3260 Upper River Road, Macon, GA 31211.
