MRS. BETTY JEAN MURPHY JOHNSON, age 74, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA.

 Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, November 27, at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene, 591 Mt Olive Church Rd, Wrightsville, GA, with interment in Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in Mt. Olive from 10:30AM-11:00AM Saturday, November 27.

 Betty was born and raised in Claxton, GA and of the Baptist Faith. After high school, she married the love of her life, Henry Vernon Johnson, and they moved to Clinchfield, GA where they raised their family. She went to work in the housekeeping department for the Perry Hospital for several years and later went to work at Bloodsworth Veterinary Clinic, where she enjoyed helping tend to animals. She later moved to Eastman to be closer to her grandchildren, and she went to work at Hilliard’s Grocery before later going to work with Shorty Bearden and helping manage Killin’ Time Flea Market. She loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and companions. Betty was the daughter of the late William John “Willie” Murphy and Essie Lee Holland Murphy, and she was preceded in death by her Husband, Henry Vernon “Big Sam” Johnson, Great-Granddaughter, Mia, and 4 Siblings.

 She is survived by her 4 Daughters – Lisa Johnson (Lynn Bowen) of Rhine, Ginger J. Moody (Morris) of Perry, Carla Johnson, and Deedee Johnson (Mike Tindall) both of Eastman; 8 Grandchildren – Stephen Johnson, Kelleye Gamble, Ashley Moody Hughes (Billy), Alex Moody, Caitlyn Johnson, Anthony Johnson (Libby Jones), Casey Brooks, and Brianna Brooks; Several Great-Grandchildren; Brother – William Murphy of Eastman; 3 Special Companions – Poochie, Sadi, and Kitty; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Carla Johnson, 466 Bedsole Rd., Eastman.
