MRS. BETTY JO MANLEY STONECYPHER, age 93, of Cadwell, GA, died Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Pruitt Healthcare in Marietta, GA.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, December 10, at Sure Foundation, in Eastman, GA, with Pastor Ron Whittington and Pastor Tyler Kirkley officiating.

 Betty Jo was born in Birmingham, AL, and lived there for the first few years of her life before moving to Eastman, GA as a child. She was a 1948 graduate of Dodge County High School, a member of Eastman First Christian Church, and worked as a manufacturing employee at C & J Manufacturing, Inc. for several years. She later worked at the Atlanta Regional Airport for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was affectionately known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren. She was an avid reader who loved collecting books. Betty Jo loved her music, especially Elvis, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and she enjoyed gardening and tending her flowers, pecan trees, and peach trees. She was the daughter of the late Pearl Smith Williams and James Hampton “Hamp” Manley (Elizabeth) and was preceded in death by her Husbands, Charles Lambert and Fred Stonecypher, Son, Ronnie Whittington, Daughter, Marsha Fritz, and Grandson, Lee Whittington.

 She is survived by her Grandchildren – Heather Jarrell (David) of Dallas, GA, Missy Whittington of Maui, HI, and Ron Whittington (Chloe) of Eastman, GA; Great-Grandchildren – Heather Dangel (Scott), Seth Jarrell, Presley Jarrell, Olivia Jarrell, Brooke Jarrell, and Maya Whittington; Great-Great-Granddaughter – Addilyn Jarrell; Daughter-in-law – Gwen Whittington of Eastman, GA; Step-Children- Michael Stonecypher of Buford, GA and Annette Sasahara (Akira) of Japan; Step Grandchildren -Christopher Sasahara (Aya) and their children Chase, Lucas and Summer, Jennifer (Ryan), and Joshua; Brother – Rick Manley (Claire), Sisters-Lynne Horton (Rusty), and Sue Mitchell; Lifelong Friend – Louise Birch Evans; Numerous extended family members and friends.

 The family will receive friends in Sure Foundation from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday, December 10. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in memory of Mrs. Betty Jo to Sure Foundation, Griffin Street, Eastman, GA.
