MRS. BESSIE JEAN ROGERS HORNE, age 73, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at her residence.

 Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, April 18, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Todd Crosby and Rev. Mike Grenade officiating, with interment in Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Plainfield.

 Bessie Jean was born and raised in Eastman, a 1967 graduate of Dodge County High School, and a member of Eastman First Baptist Church and the Joy Fellowship Sunday School class. She worked for many years at Standard Candy Company before working in the maintenance department at Dodge County Hospital. She volunteered for several years with the Eastman Christian Life Center and enjoyed the many Wednesdays she was able to attend the “Get Away” service at Eastman First Baptist Church. She loved going on trips with her daughters and grandchildren and she especially enjoyed all the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, husband, daughters, sisters, and brothers. She was a master cook and knew her way around a kitchen and enjoyed the many wonderful conversations she had around the dinner table with her family. Bessie Jean was the daughter of the late Minnie Estelle Peacock Rogers and William Joseph Rogers and was preceded in death by her Brother, Coley Rogers, Sister, Willene Sheffield, Brother-in-law, Burwell Drury, and Nieces and Nephew, Barbara Mullis, Cathy Atkinson, and Charles Glisson.

 She is survived by her Husband of 50 years – Cary Horne of Eastman; 4 Daughters – Pam Evans (Cleve), Amy Yawn, both of Eastman, Christy Wynn (Ian) of Belton, SC, and Cindy Horne (Deborah) of Whittier, NC; 8 Grandchildren – Summer Vickery (Derrick), Dalton Evans (Camryn), Jordan Yawn, Kyleigh Wynn, Chloe Wynn, Ethan Wynn, Caleb Wynn, and Brandon Lewis; Great-Granddaughter – Sailor Rose Vickery; 3 Sisters – Mary Alice Pitts, Pearlene Brown (Donald), both of Eastman, and Louise Beasley (Bobby) of Dexter; Brother – Joseph Rogers (Patrice) of Eastman; Sisters-in-law and Brother-in-law – Sherry Gay Rogers, Carolyn Drury, and Ray Horne (Doreen), all of Eastman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Christy and Ian Wynn, 691 Bedsole Rd., Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 10:00AM-11:00AM Tuesday, April 18.
