MRS. BESSIE MAE MELVIN GRAHAM, age 94, of Cochran, GA, formerly of Eastman, died Monday, August 10, 2020 at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran.
MRS. BESSIE MAE MELVIN GRAHAM, age 94, of Cochran, GA, formerly of Eastman, died Monday, August 10, 2020 at Bryant Nursing Home in Cochran.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, August 12, at Sand Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Joey Bohannon officiating.
Bessie was a native of Dodge County, a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She was a former Merle Norman Cosmetic employee, school patrol lady, and security guard at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of 49 years, a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, and tending her flowers. Bessie was the daughter of the late Mamie Jones Melvin and Robert G. Melvin, widow of Thomas L. “Bunk” Graham, and was preceded in death by 4 Siblings, R.C. Melvin, Eddie Melvin, Murry Melvin, and Lelia Melvin Fennell.
She is survived by 2 Sons – Donald “Donny” Graham (Sherrie) of Eatonton and Kenneth Graham (Rhonda) of Cochran; 4 Grandchildren – Cindy McCranie (Russell) of Ft. Valley, Dawn Lyons of California, Charles Graham (Holly) of Cochran, and Michael Newton, II of Cullman, AL; 4 Great-Grandchildren – Mya Lyons, Miranda Lyons, Lila Graham, and Charlie Graham; Brother – Guy Melvin (Estelle) of Eastman; Several Nieces and Nephews.
