MRS. BARBARA EVELYN HUNT SKEENS, age 81, of Dublin, GA, died Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Shamrock Nursing Home in Dublin.

 A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, August 15, at Pine Level Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Craig Minor officiating.

 Mrs. Skeens was born and raised in Paintsville, KY and in Van, WV. She was a 1957 graduate of Van High School, married in 1961, and began her family with her husband in Boone County in West Virginia. She was a dedicated wife of 56 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a former school lunch aid for serval years, a seamstress, an artist, and an avid traveler. Mrs. Skeens was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a pastor’s wife and with her husband served numerous churches throughout the United States before moving to Carthage, TN in the early 2000s where she became a member of Carthage Freewill Baptist Church. Barbara was the daughter of the late Dorothy Castle Hunt and Aimel Hunt, widow of Leslie Skeens, and was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kerry Hunt and Charles Hunt.

 She is survived by her Daughter – Melissa Gail Skeens Jump (Keith) of Dexter; Son – Timothy Aimel Skeens of Eastman; 7 Grandchildren – Destiny Kennedy (D.J.), Breanna Asbell (Caleb), Timothy Skeens, Jr. (Cindy Smith), Karah Skeens, Sarah Skeens (Will Walker), Holly Atkins Puckett (Andy), and Joseph Lindsey; 10 Great-Grandchildren – Skylar Walker, Brooklyn Kennedy, James Kennedy, Ember Kennedy, Riley Asbell, Kaisley Asbell, Timmy Skeens, III, Kevin Skeens, Avery Puckett, and Jacey Lindsey; 2 Sisters – Betty Runyon of South Rockwood, MI and Agnes Hatfield of Antioch, TN; Several Nieces and Nephews.
