MRS. BARBARA ANN BELCHER JOHNS-KITCHENS, age 79, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Jeff Davis Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst.

 A private family burial will be held on Thursday, October 29 at Woodlawn Cemetery.

 Barbara was born in Wadley, GA, of the Baptist Faith, a 1957 graduate of Perry High School, and received her bachelors degree in Equine Science from the University of Georgia. She was a retired civil service employee at Robins AFB and a retired educator who taught Nursing and Medical Terminology at Houston Vocational Technical College. She was an avid horse enthusiast, enjoyed raising cats, and a passionate animal rights activist. Barbara was the daughter of the late Ruby Sikes Belcher and Robert Belcher and was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles H. Johns.

 She is survived by her Husband of 25 years – James David Kitchens of Eastman; Adopted Daughter – Cindy Williams of Orlando, FL; Step-Son – Derrk Johns (Celi) of Manila, Philippines; 2 Grandchildren – ; Sister – Carolyn Watson of Perry; 2 Brothers – Robert Clyde Belcher of McRae and Charles Belcher (Gloria) of Perry; Sister-in-law – Sherry Moore (Tim) of Rainbow City, AL; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the Kitchens residence, 116 Warren Way, Eastman. Barbara will lie-in-state from 10:00AM-1:00PM Wednesday, October 28. In addition to flowers, the family request contributions to the donor’s favorite animal charity.
