MRS. AVOLINE ROGERS SMITH, age 78, of Eastman, GA, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia.

MRS. AVOLINE ROGERS SMITH, age 78, of Eastman, GA, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Bethany Nursing Home in Vidalia.

 Graveside memorial services will be held at 9:00AM Sunday, August 9, at Harrell Cemetery in the Midway Community, with Rev. Myron Parkerson officiating.

Avoline was a native of Dodge County and a member of Freedom Worship Center in Eastman. After school, she married and began her family. She lived in several places and worked several jobs including as a Stuckey’s Store cashier, an apartment complex manager for over 10 years, and a hairdresser for many years. She was a dedicated and loving mother and the best Nanny around. Avoline enjoyed shopping, cooking, and taking care of her family. She was the daughter of the late Myrtice Jones Rogers and J.O. Rogers and widow of Clarence “Gene” Smith

 She is survived by her 4 Children – Carroll Williams (Jan) of Vidalia, David Williams, Dean Smith (Rhonda) both of Eastman, and Samantha “Sally” Powell (Todd) of Montrose; 10 Grandchildren – Dena Powell Hanson (Joel), Shea Powell, Tanner Smith, Heather Hulon (Jamie), Shannon Williams, James Williams (Kayleen), Jena Barber (James), Jessie Carter (Eric), Cory Cleghorn (Nicci), and Shannon Cleghorn (Carrie); 14 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters – Brenda Lowery of Soperton and Claudine Haddock (Lee) of Eastman; Brother – J.W. Rogers (Annette) of Eastman; Sister-in-law – Ann Davis of Hawkinsville; Brother-in-law – Tim Smith (Zandra) of Eastman; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

 The family may be contacted at the residence of Dean and Rhonda Smith, 2958 Hawkinsville Hwy., Eastman. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Gideons International, P.O. Box 156 Vidalia, GA 30475, or Pruitt Health Hospice Foundation, 667 S. Main Street, Swainsboro, GA 30401.
