MR. ARTHUR LEE FOUNTAIN, age 71, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jay Thornton and Mr. Keith Mullis officiating with interment in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery .
Arthur Lee was born on April 1, 1953, in Eastman, GA and was a member of Dubois Baptist Church. He attended Cedar Grove school before working as a log truck driver for several years and later worked as a correctional officer at Central PDC in Cadwell and Dodge State Prison in Chester. He retired in the mid-2000s after a 22-year career for the Georgia Department of Corrections. Arthur Lee was a dedicated husband and a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was affectionately known a “Pa Pa” to his grandchildren. His hobbies included riding his tractor and piddling in his barn. He enjoyed his recycling business which he did for many years. Arthur Lee was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed. He was the son of the late Adell Sheffield Fountain and David Washington “Wash” Fountain and was preceded in death by his Siblings, Patricia Ann Knight, Jimmy Ray Fountain, and Sammy Joe Fountain.
He is survived by his Wife of 52 years – Cathy Helms Fountain of Eastman, GA; Daughters – Denise Fountain Poole (Brad) of Cadwell, GA, Christy Fountain Shields (Terrance) of Eastman, GA, and Shannon Fountain White (Allen) of Rentz, GA; Grandchildren – Chelsea Whiggum (Thomas), Austin Faulk, Abigail Poole, Zack White, Lane Poole, Tyler Shields, Chase White, Taylor Shields, Lily Poole, J.T. Shields, Mikayla White, and Ryan Poole; Great-Grandchildren – Will Whiggum, Lizzy Whiggum, and Hattie Lee Whiggum; Sisters – Joyce Elliot of Eatonton, GA and Diane Warren (W.C.) of Alamo, GA; Brother – Earl Fountain (Bertha) of Alamo, GA; Sister-in-law - Joyce Johnson of Ocala, FL and Sylvia Fountain of Eastman, GA; Several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
The family may be contacted at the Fountain residence, 100 Roddy Hwy., Eastman, GA, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 2:00PM-3:00PM Wednesday, February 12.
