Anthony Laurie “Tony” was born in Eastman, GA in 1945. He was a handyman extraordinaire. (His family feels that even now he’s helping St. Peter upgrade the pearly gates and get them ready for the rest of us). Tony graduated from Dodge County High School in 1963. He received an associate degree from Middle Georgia College, then attended Auburn University where he studied Engineering before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He met Jane when he was stationed in Duluth, MN where she was in nursing school. They married in September of 1971. Tony worked as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base for 40 plus years. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and brother. He especially loved his three sons and was and was very proud of their accomplishments. He enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities, camping, driving his tractor, and woodworking including building and remodeling several houses. Tony and Jane have traveled throughout the United States. After he retired, they split their time between their home in Eastman, GA, and their mountain home in McCaysville, GA. They had a great life together.
