MRS. ANNIE MAUDE CANNINGTON PETERSON, age 94, of Eastman, GA, died Friday, May 17, 2024, at Shady Pines Estate in Abbeville, GA.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, May 19, at Fair Haven Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Cole and Mr. Gary Ryals officiating, with interment in Fair Haven Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Annie Maude was born and raised in Dodge County, a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church, and a 1946 graduate of Rhine High School. She moved to Macon, GA in 1946 and worked for Southern Bell until 1950. She married Tommy Peterson in 1948 and welcomed their first son in 1951. After her sons were born, she stayed home to raise her boys, but also attended and later graduated from Crandal Business School in Macon. She later began a 32- year career at Robins AFB as a civil service employee before retiring in 1988. After retiring from Robins AFB, she worked at Wal-Mart in Macon for over ten years. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Eastman to enjoy their retirement. She enjoyed fishing, working in her yard, and tending to her flowers and plants. Annie Maude was a dedicated wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Barbara Lee Harrell Cannington and Jesse Cannington and was preceded in death by her Husband of 63 years, Thomas E. Peterson, Son, Gerald Bruce Peterson, Granddaughter, Amanda Morgan, Daughter-in-law, Pat Davis Peterson, and Siblings, Jessie Lee Rigsby, Claude Cannington, Carson Cannington, and Mozelle Powell.

 She is survived by her Son – Thomas Larry Peterson (Ronita Caldwell) of Milledgeville, GA; Daughter-in-law – Pam Peterson of Centerville, GA; Grandchildren – Jennifer Brown (Nicholas) of Warner Robins, GA, Jamilyn Ellis (Corey) of Buford, GA, and Dusty Peterson (Jessica) of Monroe, GA; Grandson-in-law – Brock Morgan of Atlanta; Great-Grandchildren – Brice Morgan, Ethan Brown, Emma Brown, Kinleigh Brown, Peyton Ellis, Courtney Ellis, and Scout Peterson; Sister – Carolyn Justice of Eastman, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews.

 The family will receive friends following the services on Sunday, May 19. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Fair Haven Baptist Church.
