MRS. ELIZABETH ANN SIRMONS ROLAND, age 83, of Eastman, GA, formerly of Chester, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her home in Dogwood Gardens.
MRS. ELIZABETH ANN SIRMONS ROLAND, age 83, of Eastman, GA, formerly of Chester, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her home in Dogwood Gardens.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating with interment in Buckhorn United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ann was born in Laurens County on November 5, 1941, and was of the Christian faith. She was a graduate of Dexter High School and married shortly after. She was a seamstress for several local shirt factories before working a career as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, raising her family, and was affectionately known as “MiMi” and “Grandma” to her grandchildren. Ann was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Bessie Lord Sirmons and Ernest Sirmons. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Hugh Roland and her siblings Faye Bass, Lynette Stogsdill, Charles Sirmons, and Jimmy Sirmons.
She is survived by her Sons – Tony Roland (Wendy) of Eastman, GA, Mitchell Roland (Dana) of Tucson, AZ, and Michael Roland of Chester, GA; Grandchildren – John Roland (Hilary), Samantha Fall (David), Megan Roland (Ryan Schule), Dylan Roland (Leah), and Nathan Roland (Kelli); Great Grandchildren – Marion Roland, Lenore Roland, Margo Roland; Brothers – Billy Sirmons of Dublin, GA, Wayne Sirmons (Sheila) of Dudley, GA, Roy Sirmons (Sally) of Chester, GA, and Ray Sirmons (Barbara) of Warner Robins, GA; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law – Syble Pruett, Dudley Roland (Dianne), Jimmy Roland (Patsy), Mae Roland, and Oscar Shannon; Many Cousins and Numerous Friends.
The family will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 1:00PM-2:00PM on Tuesday, June 24, before services and may be contacted at the residence of Tony and Wendy Roland, 1912 Abbeville Hwy., Eastman, GA 31023. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Cornerstone Christian Academy, 5107 Oak Street, Eastman, GA 31023.
