Obituary for Alice Ross Peacock

MRS. ALICE ROSS PEACOCK, age 80, of Marietta, GA, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Heritage Hospice in Marietta.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Willard Wayne “Will” Peacock, her high school sweetheart. Alice is survived by her 3 sons - Shaun Peacock (Karen) of Woodstock, David Wayne Peacock of Marietta, and Duron Peacock (Kimberly) of Acworth; 9 grandchildren - Lauren Peacock, Hunter Peacock, Tyler Peacock, Morgan Peacock, Chaz Giles, Cameron Giles, Chelsea Giles, Emma Peacock, and Will Peacock; her sister, Myrna Ross Allen of Chester; sister-in-law Gladys Studstill Peacock of Eastman; also several nieces and nephews. Alice was the youngest daughter of the late Emma Mae Strickland Ross and Charlie Ward Ross.

Alice was a native of Eastman, GA, of the Christian faith, and a 1957 graduate of Eastman High School. Alice and Will were married in 1958 and had 3 sons by 1962. Alice was a devoted wife, supporting Will while he pursued his secondary education and professional goals. Alice was a dedicated mother to her 3 sons, instilling in them the values needed to become the men they are today. Alice was a proud grandmother to her 9 grandkids. She never missed an opportunity to tell them she loved them and was proud of them. She firmly believed it was her right to spoil her grandkids as she saw fit. Alice was a biblical example of kindness, compassion, forgiveness and love. She touched every person she came in contact with. Alice truly was an Angel from Heaven, given to us by God to touch our lives. She will be greatly missed.
