Aunt Linda, Robby, Lisa, Mark and Shawn, My Cousins I am so so very sorry that all of you wonderful people are having to go through this. Uncle Robert was to me So much like my own Daddy, but then again, they are Brothers. Plus I actually got to know Uncle Robert, along with Uncle Larry better than most all of my other Uncles mainly because they had all moved from Chester over to Hawkinsville, all of us lived in the Midway Community where I do still reside to this very day. I guess some things are just harder than others to simply give up. Heck Midway has been the place that I have called home, well I guess it's only fair to say the place that my wife of now 25 years Ginger NeSmith Johnson, who was by the way a Dexter, Georgia native! So she actually grew up just a stones throw away from that tiny tiny little town all of the Johnson boys grew up in and were VERY VERY WELL KNOWN both in and around!! Heck My grandparents had 14 children!!! SO yeah I think it's fir to say the Johnson's were pretty well know back in the 60's in and around Chester!! until they all began dating, then marrying, My Daddy was the Oldest of all of My grand parents Bert ( BJ ) and Noella Brady Johnson and he met and married my mother Mary M. Harrell also of Chester back in Sept. of 1966 and it wasnt very long after that, was when Uncle Robert Met and Married my Aunt Linda Brown Johnson. it's Crazy that uncle Robert left Us On my parents 51st wedding anniversary, and at the time he and Aunt Linda had been married for 50 years..Oh what some stories I have heard that I could tell, but this just isnt the place and time, however it is the place and time to Celebrate the Life and times of ONE HELL OF A MAN!! My Uncle Robert Johnson who was as it stated, a Lifetime Farmer, who like my Daddy who was also a lifetime farmer, LOVED to work on cars, trucks, tractors...heck if it had a motor, they loved to get their hands greasy!! I should know because my daddy and i and even Uncle Robert had all worked together on several things together, not to mention all working in the same fields together, either Gathering Peanuts or Picking Cotton in the fall time of the year.I used to think things were SO SO HARD back then, but I had absolutely No idea just how simple and easy things truly were!! Back then when we all had our youth and all we really cared about was getting to the race track on time every Saturday afternoon.Having to go through things such as this, Like posting comments on My Uncle Robert's Obituary of ALL things!! SO far now every since 2012 back when I lost My Daddy was when we began to start losing our beloved family members, we lost our Aunt Betty back in January of 2015 and Now our Uncle Robert here in 2017. I know to some many of the things that i am saying or have said won't make whole lotta sense, but many don't understand just how close we all were at one time, back before technology began to rule and we all began to grow further and further apart, especially after the loss of Grandma Noella who was the Glue, but that role was handed off to Aunt Betty, but a I mentioned she passed back in 2015 and again the more and more we all begin to rely on technology, it;s now just the occasional facebook message just to say hello, but we gotta some how get better about getting back to being a family.Honestly I had completely forgotten just how much and just how many wonderful family I do still have Until the death of my Daddy Raymond Wade Johnson Sr., That day my wife and I showed up at my Aunt Betty's Home where we all had gathered due to my daddy's passing. It brought me to pure tears just seeing that not just a few or some of my daddys siblings had shown up, BUT EVERY SINGLE ONE, other than my Uncle Earl who had passed in a car accident only months before my birth back in 1970. now it wasnt just my daddys siblings it was all of my cousins and even their children, and honestly some i didnt even recognize or even know, but i did then realize that I do still have one heck of a family, and they are all also Uncle Robert's family as well and he will be missed just as much by all of us.go and be with God Uncle Robert.
